Tour A Wednesday, Norton Museum 2:00 - 5:30 p.m. $55 per person |
Begin your tour with a drive through Palm Beach — after all this is the place to see, and be seen. Check out the neighborhood that is home to folks called Rockefeller, Trump or Kennedy — this is where America's high society lives, works and plays! The Norton Museum is a major cultural attraction in Florida with a permanent collection consisting of more than 5,000 works concentrated in European, American, Chinese, contemporary art, and photography. From its founding, the Norton has been famous for its masterpieces of artists such as Gauguin, Matisse, Picasso, Hopper, O'Keeffe and Pollock, which you can enjoy on guided tour with a docent. After leaving the museum the group will head to Worth Avenue, where you will have the chance to add to your own collection. Be it jewelry, shoes, or antiques, you are sure to find something you didn't even know you wanted, as soon as it catches your eye. You'll also have a chance to check out the latest looks from the world's top designers without traveling the globe. This is not your suburban shopping mall, but the ultimate destination for upscale shopping, with atmosphere and architecture to match! |
Tour B: Wednesday, Catamaran Sailing 2:30 - 5:30 p.m. $127 per person (repeated on Saturday, June 28) |
Sit back and relax as you sail along the shoreline of the Intracoastal Waterway taking in the sights of manmade and natural wonders. First you'll enjoy the views of the area's magnificent mansions and mega yachts. Then the catamaran will set sail on the Atlantic Ocean, where you could have a chance encounter with marine life. You'll find there's nothing like the exhilaration of sailing on the open ocean and gliding over the waves! (Beverages and light snacks included) |
Tour C: Thursday, Boca Resort History & Grounds Tour 9:15 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Spouse Tour |
![]() More than 80 years have passed since the resort first opened its doors as The Cloister Inn. Take this walk through the buildings and grounds with a local historian to learn about the early days of what was intended to be "the greatest resort in the world." Your tour guide will point out many interesting artifacts found throughout the property, the variety of trees and plants and the "Chef's Herb Garden." Weekend gardeners are sure to enjoy the added bonus of hearing professional gardening tips and secrets! |
Tour D: Thursday, Morikami Japanese Garden 2:30 - 5:30 p.m. Spouse Tour |
This garden has been a center for Japanese arts and culture in South Florida for thirty years and is ranked 8th among more than 300 Japanese gardens outside Japan by the Journal of Japanese Gardening. The gardens, set across 200 acres, encompass strolling paths, resting areas, tropical bonsai collection, nature trails small lakes teeming with koi and other wildlife. According to the garden designer, each garden is intended to express the character and ideas of a unique counterpart in Japan without attempting to duplicate those gardens, and seamlessly flow together as one garden. |
Tour E: Friday, Boca Raton Museum of Art 9:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Spouse Tour |
This museum presents changing exhibitions in addition to permanent collections by modern masters such as Degas, Matisse, Modigliani and Picasso. A museum docent will lead you through the Boca Raton Museum's treasures which include European, American and African art; decorative arts, including ceramics, examples of Art Nouveau and Art Deco design; and sculpture gardens. |
Tour F: Saturday, Croquet Tournament 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Spouse Program |
Although croquet isn't part of the Olympic games this summer, the competition is sure to be fierce and fun at the Society's very own croquet tournament. If you think you have what it takes to hit a ball through a series hoops in the grass, then this is the game for you. Don't worry — the event will begin with an instructional and practice session for participants. Beginners, experts, teens welcome! Refreshments will be served. |
Tour G: Saturday, Flagler Museum & Palm Beach, Including Worth Avenue 1:00 - 5:45 p.m. $55 per person |
This tour will begin with a drive through Palm Beach — after all this is the place to see, and to be seen. Check out the neighborhood that is home to folks called Rockefeller, Trump or Kennedy — this is where America's high society lives, works and plays! This Beaux Arts style mansion was once home to Henry Morrison Flagler, an American real estate and railroad developer who is credited for the growth of South Florida. The 55-room, 60,000 square foot residence has been compared to European palaces and served as the winter retreat from New York for the Flagler family. Today it is a museum with permanent exhibits on Flagler's life, including his private railcar, and other exhibits related to Florida history and the Gilded Age, a time of population growth and extravagant displays of wealth and excess, from the 1870s to 1900. Following a docent-led tour the group will have the opportunity to visit Worth Avenue, where Mr. Flagler might be seen shopping if alive today, and where you will have the chance to add to your own collection. Gators and turtles and birds, oh my! We're off to see the Everglades, the largest swamp land of them all. You'll spend one hour experiencing the thrilling sensation of an airboat ride over the largest area of natural subtropical wilderness in North America.The Everglades are home to a variety of animals and vegetation and provide a safe haven from encroaching human habitats. After the ride you'll visit "Vanishing Species" alligator exhibit and the Seminole Indian Village. |

No doubt its Cuban culture, cuisine and music that keeps Miami hot and hopping! Take a journey through the area's Cuban community, the largest in the world outside of Cuba. Since 1959, a time of political upheaval in Cuba, thousands of Cubans left to begin a new life in America. Most settled in Miami, and after years of immigration the area was transformed from a beach retirement community into a modern city with a distinct Latin flavor. Experience it for yourself — from the food, to language, to fashion, to music — Miami is alive with an original blended culture. The excursion includes a guided tour of "Little Havana" and Miami, shopping and sightseeing in South Beach, and lunch. |

Let's spend a day of discovery exploring over 200 fascinating interactive exhibits at the Fort Lauderdale Museum of Discovery and Science! We'll see sharks and the largest living Atlantic coral reef in captivity, hang out with bats, be charmed by a 12-foot snake, plus pet alligators, turtles and iguanas. Explore the 11,000 square foot nature trail and learn about Florida's amazing Everglades in the Living in the Everglades exhibit. Discover your place in aerospace at Runways to Rockets and take a simulated trip to the Moon or Mars. Of course, our visit isn't complete without experiencing an IMAX film adventure. |

Southern Florida's unique, hands-on children's museum where you'll touch, explore, imagine and create. We'll visit The Magic School Bus: Kicks Up A Storm exhibit. From hot air balloons to hurricanes, visitors are immersed in the entire weather experience through this award-winning TV and book series from Scholastic. Do science projects in Ms. Frizzle's Classroom, process live weather data in the Walkerville Weather Center, and measure lightning in the Weather Observatory! |
